Nursing can be a challenging job, but with the right work environment and the opportunity to provide great care to patients, we believe we have got the right balance.
Providing clinical care at home means that HomeLink Healthcare nurses, therapists and health care assistants are on the road a fair bit, whether it’s squeezing through London’s crowded streets or navigating the open plains of Norfolk. They are travelling to provide clinical care to patients who would otherwise be in hospital but have been provided with a home-based care package by their hospital consultant.
Our nurses enjoy using their experience to consider the holistic needs of patients whilst providing treatment in the home. Spending quality time with patients and a sense of independence is rated highly by our community-based teams. Also important is the ability to access all the information they need through state of the are IT systems and the ability to get a ‘second opinion’ from senior nurses.
Having the right atmosphere, training and flexibility are important to job satisfaction. Our staff are certainly not stuck on a ward or behind a desk. Flexible working means that rotas are arranged around availability and people can start and finish a shift at home, calling in at the office or hospital to pick up supplies or join a training session when required.
Dorota commented about HomeLink Healthcare “It has a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere, fantastic, direct, quick communication often with laughter and touch of humour. I feel a great sense of appreciation and know my expertise, knowledge, experience and personal qualities are valued”.
